My Saturday
I had a pretty good, eventful Saturday. One of my friends from high school, Natalie, has just come back from Denmark last month and asked me on Friday whether I wanted to go out to lunch with her and several other high school friends on Saturday.
I had earlier already asked Genie, Helen and Dru to go out to dinner on Saturday, sort of to celebrate my getting a job. So now I had lunch at 12pm then dinner at 6pm. But I thought, 'Hey, why not go to Castle Towers a bit early so I could go get a blood test at the Medical Centre, then shop around a bit for some work stuff, THEN meet up for lunch and make good use of my time?'
So it was already getting to be a bit of a full day on Saturday. I bought new tops for work and had 4 tubes of blood taken, had lunch with 4 high school friends whom I haven't seen for like 5 years, caught up with what everyone's been up to, where they work now, so it was a pretty good lunch. Too bad I didn't think to bring my camera with me.
I booked dinner at Temasek at 6pm. Dru was a little late in picking me up and we still had to pick up Helen before we head down to Parra.
I hate being late for anything, it's just something that I don't like and haven't liked since I was in high school. Must be the way I was brought up *shrugs*
Actually we made it to Temasek about 6:05pm, which wasn't too bad. Genie called to say she'll be about 15 minutes late and then she didn't know how to get into the carpark behind Temasek. It can be a little complicated if you're not too familiar with the area.
Dinner was great, except that out of 3 dishes, one was a curry and one had chili in it..... and I can't really take much chili.... :( Dru, Helen and Genie had no problems, all three grew up eating quite a lot of chili. I was there fanning my mouth out and could only eat one of the many Singaporean Chili King Prawns. The Serai Chicken was very nice though... *mmmmm* Yum! Just thinking about it makes me want more of it. I love lemongrass-flavoured dishes!!
After dinner, it was almost 8pm and Genie wanted dessert, so I suggested going to Ziggy's where Dru and I went when we just started going out and had the most yummiest Tiramisu. But Genie wanted to go to an ice-creamery called Cold Rock (or something like that) on Church St, so we ended up going there instead. The ice-cream was quite nice actually, I was quite surprised. They did this thing where you can chose your confectionery (e.g. M&Ms, Clinkers, Gummi Bears, etc.) and they mix it into the ice-cream for you for 70c extra each. I chose Cookies and Cream with Marshmallows...... it was so nice (the marshmallows go all hard, but not as badly as the gummi bears do!) that it actually got me buying my own tiny marshmallows and ice-cream and mixing it up myself at home. It's sorta like Rocky Road without the nuts. So nice!
Anyway, while I was in the middle of choosing what I wanted, Erik calls me up and asks whether I wanted to go out that night to Roof Bar. I did, but I didn't... but I ended up convincing Dru to go with me anyway, but we both had to go home and change first. Lucky there was plenty of time!
Gosh the parking was bad on Saturday night!! I know it's usually pretty bad Friday night and weekends but it was just BAD! *ugh!* Almost wanted to head home after a while.
It was a bit past 11pm when we finally got to Roof Bar, but the place was pretty dead that night. Erik and his friends said it's normally pretty good, but frankly, it wasn't all that great.

I swear it must've been because I had blood taken that morning, but I got pretty bad after only 1 and a half drinks.... and I absolutely swear my alcohol tolerance normally isn't that low. (I swear!) Or maybe Erik slipped something into my drinks....?? *LoL*, I don't know what it was, but I felt so sick. We left before it was 2am... I think. Poor Dru, he was so tired but he drove anyway. I felt so bad :(
He slept until 11-12 the next day!
So that was my jam-packed full-of-fun Saturday. My Saturdays haven't been that busy for a loooong time!
