Varekai and Priscilla, Queen of the Desert

This has been in my blogger drafts since 5th of October:

So Dru and I went to Cirque du Soleil's Varekai on that Friday.

It was wonderful! I would go see it again if it wasn't so expensive! No recording devices were allowed into the big top so no photos to post up. Sorry!

I actually was supposed to finish work on Friday at 7pm. Varekai started at 8pm which would've given me 1 hour to get from Parramatta to Moore Park. Normally, on Fridays before public holidays or school holidays, work gets really busy for us. Weirdly enough, although it was both the Friday before a public holiday AND the Friday before the school holidays, it was actually really really quiet. We didn't have many consults in the evening and I even got to leave work 5 minutes early!!

I could've left much earlier than that but because I was on with my boss I was too scared to ask to leave early in case heaps of people come in just as we were closing or something like that. (People love to do that, especially on Tuesday nights when I'm usually on by myself in the last half hour. Hardly anyone comes in when there's 2 vets there... as soon as the other vet leaves at 6:30pm, everyone decides it's 'Time To Go See The Vet!') Anyhoo, back to the story, I left work at 6:55pm and actually got to Moore Park at 7:45pm; the traffic was just amazingly smooth, no traffic jams at all, almost all green lights. It was wonderful!

Dru met up with me at Moore Park, it was a funny story:
Dru was having a few after-work drinks to pass the time until it was time to go to Varekai and I rang him as I was reaching City Road to see if he wanted me to pick him up from the pub, he said no, he's already waiting for the bus... Number 395... oh look there's the bus, yes yes I'll meet you there! So I continue driving to Moore Park and when I'm almost crossing over Anzac Parade, I see a bus, number 395, in front in the right lane. As I drive past it, there's Dru standing in the aisle! How big of a coincidence was that?! I quickly picked up my phone to call him except he saw my car first as he looked out the window.

Wow, that was weird. But cool.

So we made it on time to see Varekai, I even had time to get some food before going in to see the show! It was the most perfect timing, as soon as we sat down, the show started.

It was a great night, I definitely would go see Cirque du Soleil if they come into town again. They do some amazing acts of acrobatics!

Regarding Priscilla, Queen of the Desert musical:
I got free tickets from Dru's work on the Wednesday after Cirque de Soleil for the preview screening that Friday.

IT WAS SO GOOD.

Although there was a tiny hiccup at the very last scene where the bus broke down and we had to have a second intermission for 10-15 minutes whilst they fixed it up. But I'm sure they've fixed that now. I definitely would recommend seeing it if you're interested.

A nurse from work went at the end of October and she agreed with me that it was fantastic! So go see it!

<-- Sorry took so long to post... I've been lazy.... AGAIN! It's a never ending cycle -->
