2 Nights Out
On Friday night, my friends and I decided to head out to the city for drinks and dinner. We joined up with Dru's mates and headed to the Roof Bar. It was the first time I'd been there and it's actually quite a nice place. We were there for an hour or so while we waited for everyone so we could decide where to have dinner.
There was a lot of suggestions but the final decision was to go to this little Japanese restaurant near the PWC building.
It was something of a disaster....
Firstly, the actual ordering took us ages cos someone suggested we eat communally and we didn't know what to get or how much to order, then once we had ordered, they took ages to prepare our food. There was a total of 10 people there and once a dish comes out (since the dishes came one by one by one... with long periods of waiting in between....), 2 seconds later it would be gone as the dishes were quite small so everyone taking a piece soon clears the plate.
I think we were there for 2 hours because that's how long it took for all the food to come out.
Then the toilets.
The restaurant didn't have its own toilet, so you have to go into the building beside it and go down into the parking lot for their disabled toilet. When I went there, it was fine cos I had 3 males accompanying me, however, Helen and Genie went down there by themselves and almost got themselves abducted by 2 men.
Okay that may have been a bit of an exaggeration, but they were scared by this man who was standing next to his car with the boot wide open. He was yelling at them in some foreign language and gesturing to them (I think?) so they bolted back to the lifts where another man in a car started up his engine then started yelling stuff at them too.
They couldn't get back to the restaurant fast enough.
Just thinking about it gives me chills down my back.
Who knows what those 2 men were really up to? But it wasn't a pleasant experience for Helen and Genie.
I don't think they'll ever go back there again.
So after dinner, some of the guys were still hungry, so we went to KFC for a quick 2nd dinner. We walked past Town Hall and this is what it looked like:
They were projecting that colourful pattern onto the Town Hall from the building opposite. It was really pretty, and covered the entire front of the Hall, except that we were in a hurry and I only took this one shot of it.We went to Bar333 after but only for an hour and then everyone went home. It was a pretty tame night on the whole.

On Saturday night, Dru's friend Tariff (I think that's how u spell it) hosted a BBQ, I think sort of as a make up dinner for his wedding the previous year. It's almost their one-year anniversary already! He went over to Cambodia and came back with a wife. So sly! Didn't even tell anyone or anything! Just kinda like 'Yeh, Cambodia was great, we did this, this, this and oh by the way, I got married...' Although it was funny that all his friends were guessing that he would come back married anyway.
At the BBQ, it was relos and friends night, little kids running around everywhere, which then prompted me to think that I'll never have BBQs like that with my family. There's only my brother and I, plus we only have one set of relos in Sydney. If I was in HK, there'll be kids running amuck at every family get-together. Both my parents have big families.
I didn't take many photos that night, cos it was Dru's friend's get-together, so it didn't feel right for me to whip out the camera.
Dru, me, Sakkim and TariffDru was kinda underdressed for the night, but his excuse was that it was boiling hot during the day, plus he'd packed all his clothes in his luggage already! (Really, it was only because it was hot and he'd thought that it was just a friends only thing)

Anyway, I've gotta get to the airport, I'm off to Fiji!! :)
Be back next Wednesday!!
