Was just browsing on YouTube earlier and happened on this video. I've seen it before but it's such a cute video I just had to share it with you:

My Holiday Is Coming Up!

It's only another week before I'm flying off to HK. So before I go, I thought I'd post up a "last post" then hopefully I'll be back with lots of photos and stories to share with you.

About 2 weeks ago, I was on MSN and speaking with a friend who's in HK at the moment, and he happened to have a flight attendant friend who was with him at the time, and she and I got to talking with each other..... and she totally sparked my interest in becoming a flight attendant!

When I was younger, I'd always thought, 'Hmm, flight attending... that'll be really interesting. Too bad I'm too short to be an FA... :( ' And that's where it usually ends.

However, speaking with Tammy, she told me she herself is only 158cm (I'm 159cm tall) and to work with her airline, you only need to have an arm-reach of 208cm on barefoot. Now I'm still not too sure whether that means both arms or one arm, but I can definitely reach 208cm with one arm.... but not both arms... i can only reach 205cm :(

Once I found I had the required arm-reach for the FA business, my thoughts started running away with me......

That night, I was like, 'Yes! I want to try and be a flight attendant!' I spoke with my parents, Dru and a good vet friend of mine and every one of them were like, 'Yeh, go for it!', which really surprised me, especially when it came from my parents as I would have thought they'd be totally against the idea because it means I would be away from them for extended periods of time.

However, once I got my head down from the clouds and thought about it more thoroughly and had a good chat with Dru, I understood that if I really wanted to follow this dream, it would mean long periods of time away from Dru and this obviously wouldn't be great for our relationship. So having agonised over it for about 3 days, I've decided to let it go and leave it be.

I know some people are saying, 'Why are you basing your decision on another person?' I've really gone over this so many times, and have had so many conflicted thoughts on it.

I don't want to say no because of my relationship, but yet at the same time, I don't want to not consider it for obvious reasons. At the moment I'm really happy with our relationship and I don't have much cause for complaint and, yes, although things could change between us in the future, at this point in time, I'm happy with what I have, and have no desire to 'rock the boat' if you will.

So unfortunately, no flying around the world attending to peoples' needs on a plane for me.

*takes a deep breath*

Even thinking about it now makes my heart toss and turn.

If I wasn't in a relationship, I would so try and see whether I would get accepted.

Anyhoo, let's change subjects now.

-------

At work today, I was in such a weirdly good and singing mood, it really freaked a lot of people out (I think). Or perhaps they were just annoyed/freaked out with my singing... *LoL*

I'm not sure why I felt like singing so much today, I couldn't control it!

Maybe flying to HK in a week has something to do with it? I can't wait!!!! Janice is coming to HK too! Finally we're in HK at the same time! Shopping, shopping, shopping... here we come!!

So weird, her boyfriend and I area flying out on the same day, but different airlines, so she'll be driving both of us to the airport!

--------

I'm going to change my hair colour again tomorrow! I have a complimentary hair colour from Redkins :) But the blowdrying component will cost like $40 or something... how dodgy! I can dry it myself thanks! So bloody expensive for a blowdry.

I'm thinking that when I got to HK, I will do something with my hair - either cut it shorter, or perm it or something.... got an idea to do like a body wave on the lower half of my hair and leave the upper half straight. I have a really good vision of what it will look like, but whether it will be achieved or whether they will screw it up, I don't know. So that's still just on the cards for now.

Anyway, better go to sleep! Be back in a month! :)

Varekai and Priscilla, Queen of the Desert

This has been in my blogger drafts since 5th of October:

So Dru and I went to Cirque du Soleil's Varekai on that Friday.

It was wonderful! I would go see it again if it wasn't so expensive! No recording devices were allowed into the big top so no photos to post up. Sorry!

I actually was supposed to finish work on Friday at 7pm. Varekai started at 8pm which would've given me 1 hour to get from Parramatta to Moore Park. Normally, on Fridays before public holidays or school holidays, work gets really busy for us. Weirdly enough, although it was both the Friday before a public holiday AND the Friday before the school holidays, it was actually really really quiet. We didn't have many consults in the evening and I even got to leave work 5 minutes early!!

I could've left much earlier than that but because I was on with my boss I was too scared to ask to leave early in case heaps of people come in just as we were closing or something like that. (People love to do that, especially on Tuesday nights when I'm usually on by myself in the last half hour. Hardly anyone comes in when there's 2 vets there... as soon as the other vet leaves at 6:30pm, everyone decides it's 'Time To Go See The Vet!') Anyhoo, back to the story, I left work at 6:55pm and actually got to Moore Park at 7:45pm; the traffic was just amazingly smooth, no traffic jams at all, almost all green lights. It was wonderful!

Dru met up with me at Moore Park, it was a funny story:
Dru was having a few after-work drinks to pass the time until it was time to go to Varekai and I rang him as I was reaching City Road to see if he wanted me to pick him up from the pub, he said no, he's already waiting for the bus... Number 395... oh look there's the bus, yes yes I'll meet you there! So I continue driving to Moore Park and when I'm almost crossing over Anzac Parade, I see a bus, number 395, in front in the right lane. As I drive past it, there's Dru standing in the aisle! How big of a coincidence was that?! I quickly picked up my phone to call him except he saw my car first as he looked out the window.

Wow, that was weird. But cool.

So we made it on time to see Varekai, I even had time to get some food before going in to see the show! It was the most perfect timing, as soon as we sat down, the show started.

It was a great night, I definitely would go see Cirque du Soleil if they come into town again. They do some amazing acts of acrobatics!

Regarding Priscilla, Queen of the Desert musical:
I got free tickets from Dru's work on the Wednesday after Cirque de Soleil for the preview screening that Friday.

IT WAS SO GOOD.

Although there was a tiny hiccup at the very last scene where the bus broke down and we had to have a second intermission for 10-15 minutes whilst they fixed it up. But I'm sure they've fixed that now. I definitely would recommend seeing it if you're interested.

A nurse from work went at the end of October and she agreed with me that it was fantastic! So go see it!

<-- Sorry took so long to post... I've been lazy.... AGAIN! It's a never ending cycle -->
